Be in Love with Love

Nothing like a public holiday to make you feel left out or lonely if your circumstances don't match up.

I personally do not subscribe to Valentine's Day, due to its roots and the commercial nature of the day. I believe love deserves much more respect and dignity than some chocolates and balloons can ever give. Can we just love Love, for Love? Each and everyday? I love to see people enjoy love, being recipients of genuine love. To be treated and cared for; to be surprised. I'm not being a love grinch. However, I want to suggest ways in which we can still love Love and be the recipient of it, even if we are single.

You are loved and worthy of love
You are alone, not lonely
Love is a powerful quality you possess

1. ASK FOR WHAT YOU NEED

Discover what you need from love and ask for it from friends and family. Invite love into your space. Open your heart to the wonderful possibilities of love.

2. BE A GOOD GIVER OF LOVE

Practice how to demonstrate showing love. Not just romantic, but the generosity of it, the strength of love, the fairness, justice and equality of love. Be mindful of WHO you give love to; it is too precious for the undeserved.

3. DATE YOURSELF

Why not go on a solo date? Get dressed for yourself, take yourself to a nice place to eat, watch a movie, buy yourself flowers.

4. BE JOYFUL WHEN YOU SEE LOVE

Practice rejoicing at love when it is displayed around you. When a loved one is enjoying being loved. Smile that there still exists love in the world.

5. CELEBRATE THAT YOU ARE A VESSEL OF LOVE

Yes, you already possess love. You don't need external validation or the presence of a partner to know that. You are capable of love. You are the presence of a form of love.
